2026 FGBMFI-USA National Convention
Unity was the word and the fruit of unity was visible before us
Demos Shakarian said the primary purpose of a Convention was to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit to give us knowledge and guidance to keep moving forward.
The FGBMFI-USA 2026 National Convention held in Houston, Texas, June 5-6, was a magnificent message from the Holy Spirit of the blessings of Fellowship unity. The fruit of that unity was on full display as members from so many states came together in joy.
There was one accord of leadership at the Convention. International President Francis Owusu shared that our Vision is from the Holy Spirit, not from men, and we must be of one accord to fulfill that Vision.
USA National President Gabriel Jacquez shared the Spirit inspired him to organize the nation in regions so each region would have a distinct spiritual flavor of the region. The evident result of that Spiritual wisdom was that the FGBMFI-USA is growing in every region as the leaders and men are together of one mind and one accord.
Daily sessions of the convention were covered by members of the Regions and all got see, hear, and know many members, activities and leaders from each and how the Spirit was guiding them. There was an anointed sharing of ideas and information to continue building chapters and bringing in souls.
From Larry DoNofio of New England, Fredy Espana of the Northeast, Doug Wooley of the Southeast, Roger Sonnesyn of the Great Lakes, Oscar Hernandez of the South Central, to Sergio Oseguera of the Big Western, the regions are building the nation and are on fire with the Holy Spirit leading awe-inspiring men to share Jesus.
National Treasurer and IT Director Edgar Fonseca blessed us with a presentation showing the Fellowship Chapters increasing as well as our Treasury!
There were noted speakers, including Terry Mize of Arizona, Milton Valle of Houston and Honduras, and Juan Carlos Rivera of Guatemala.
Evangelist Terry Mize said we must be operating in the authority we have been given by the Lord to overcome anything in our paths and let the rain of the Lord’s power fall upon us and drench us in his authority over the entire universe.
Featured singer and speaker Milton Valle shared how the Vision is what the Lord has asked - for us to share our testimonies and reach even one soul, but reaching one soul is what the Lord did himself at times, and it builds the most important talent in us from the Holy Spirit – humility.
And Juan Carlos Rivera said the power of the Holy Spirit is the most powerful force in existence and the Holy Spirit must be the ONLY source that supplies our needs and guides us in unity, not our worldly hopes and desires.
National Vice President & Director of Chinese Chapters, Michael Yu, shared the Holy Spirit is a raging river of Life, and not to let it become a small stream, only used to boost our comforts or our vanity, rather than the Lord’s purpose to lead souls to Jesus.
Perhaps a key message of the Convention was that unity in the Holy Spirit demands all men must be working with one mind, one heart, and one Spirit, said Francis - and when our own minds enter the mix we are not in one accord but spiritually in rebellion.
The Ladies of the Fellowship heard a message from Madame Jennifer Owusu, wife of Francis who leads a worldwide prayer ministry for women to advance the causes of our lives, in addition to being a support to the husbands in the Fellowship.
National Fellowship Youth leader Bryan Navarro and Southeastern Regional Youth Leader, Rafael Linares brought great joy and revival in the Spirit when so many young people attended and stood boldly for Christ in song, prayer, and witness – what a blessing!
Visiting the Convention also were evangelist Paul Aloo, of Cameroon, and Canadian National FGBMF President Solomon Efele, who extended greetings from the North.
A great joy was the Fellowship together. And with the new International Headquarters now open in Houston, many toured the HQ. Office manager, Becky Dyson and her assistant shared so much rich history now located there – including the rug that Demos Shakarian was praying on when he received the Vision that is our inspiration and cause of the Holy Spirit for our existence.
The Convention was blessed by many who participated in planning, and the most important aspect was unified prayer. Prayer for the Convention throughout the past year was led by Max Mejias of Texas, whose team of prayer warriors had prayed daily at their homes. At the Convention, those warriors would gather each morning at 7 AM and pray together before any gathered in the meeting rooms. And the called the Holy Spirit down on every session.
The brothers who worked to put the hotel and the organizational portions together were dedicated and led by Geoge Segersbol and Oscar Hernandez, both of Texas.
Chapter members from Texas were hosts and welcomed all warmly with love.
The laughter, the prayers, and the conversations reflected the beauty of what it means to be one family in Christ — beyond borders, cultures, and language.
All Convention attendees were close together for two days and nights, praying, laughing, eating together and remembering this ministry, this Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International was birthed by the Holy Spirit, and not by man.
And the gentle shower of the Holy Spirit fell upon all as accompaniment to the Storm of the Spirit that filled us.
From special speakers to Fellowship officers a message came across loud and clear and USA National President Gabriel Jacquez spoke it to open the Convention, and International President Francis Owusu did the same on Saturday night: The Greatest Harvest is almost upon us; prepare our chapters; the Lord has armed ALL of us with the Holy Spirit to receive the harvest!
